About Meg

Meg is a professional drummer who, at 17 years of age, has traveled the country participating in workshops and festivals. She has received scholarships to participate in the Telluride Jazz All-Stars, The Brubeck Summer Jazz Colony, The Berklee Global Jazz Institute at the Newport Jazz Festival, and Jazz at Lincoln Center’s Summer Jazz Academy. As a Freshman studying Jazz Studies at Temple University’s Boyer College of Music and Dance, Meg aspires to create a career geared around Jazz Education and Performance where she can carve her own unique path with her sticks.

Career Highlights

  • TELLURIDE JAZZ FESTIVAL
    In the summer of 2017, Meg was selected to participate in the Telluride Jazz Festival's flagship educational scholarship program, the Telluride Student All-Star Jazz Ensemble. Dedicated Jazz students from around the globe are selected via audition to attend this program led by directors Prof. Bob Montgomery and Josh Quinlan. These esteemed jazz performance educators accept elite musicians to travel to Telluride the week preceding the festival to work on compositions and study music together. This effort culminates with a performance on the main stage at the Telluride Jazz Festival.
  • BRUBECK SUMMER JAZZ COLONY
    This program selected 18 young musicians from around the world, to come study and play with some of the world's most amazing instructors. Meg was selected to participate in The 2018 Summer Jazz Colony. This one-week, intensive educational program in jazz performance is for a very limited number of exceptionally talented students. They come from throughout the United States and beyond to study with Brubeck Institute faculty, guest artists and master teachers, in combo rehearsals, master classes, classes in jazz theory and advanced jazz improvisation, and seminars on the music of Dave Brubeck and other topics.
  • BERKLEE GLOBAL JAZZ INSTITUTE WORKSHOP AT THE NEWPORT JAZZ FESTIVAL
    The Berklee Jazz Institute Workshop at the Newport Jazz Festival, offers aspiring young jazz musicians a full-scholarship, five-day intensive jazz program taught by world-renowned faculty and led by Artistic Director Danilo Perez and Managing Director Marco Pignataro. Meg was invited to the 2018 program which culminates with all students playing on the Newport Jazz Festival stage. Through the Berklee Global Jazz program, Meg was able to meet and play with one of her idols: Terry Lynn Carrington!
